Zero Tolerance Policy

Fraud Prevention

We work hard to keep Trifix safe. Our platform is built on trust and strict adherence to this policy. Learn how to protect yourself and the severe consequences of fraudulent activity.

The Golden Rule of Safety

NEVER pay an artisan directly outside the Platform. This includes cash, bank transfers, or payments for materials. Per Section 2.3 of our User Agreement, any transaction off the Platform voids all TriFix protections – including escrow, guarantees, and dispute resolution.

Common Fraud Schemes & How to Avoid Them

Be smart. If you encounter these, report the user immediately.

"Money for Materials"

The Lie: "Oga/Madam, transfer money to my personal account so I can buy the materials quickly."

Solution: As per Section 6.5, materials are a matter between you and the Artisan. Paying off-platform removes all your protections. If you must pay for materials via the Platform, ensure it is an explicitly itemized part of the job or Milestone. Otherwise, TriFix disclaims all liability.

"Release Code Trick"

The Lie: "I need the 4-digit code to 'register' my arrival" or "My phone is dead, please tell me the code to confirm I'm here."

Solution: Only provide the Release Code when the job or Milestone is 100% complete and you are fully satisfied. This code authorizes the release of funds from Escrow. Never share it for any other reason.

"The Switch"

The Lie: The verified artisan sends their "brother" or "apprentice" to do the work instead.

Solution: Verify the person against the profile photo on the app. If it's not the verified Artisan, do not allow work to begin and report it to TriFix immediately.

How We Fight Fraud

Our commitment to a secure platform.

1

Mandatory Identity Verification (KYC)

Per Section 3.2, every artisan must submit a valid government-issued ID (NIN, Passport, Driver’s Licence). Accounts failing verification are suspended or removed. This complies with CBN AML/KYC requirements.

2

Escrow Protection

Client funds are held in Escrow through our licensed payment partners (Paystack, Monnify). Funds are only released upon Client confirmation via the Release Code or as determined in our dispute process. This prevents unauthorized access to funds.

3

Account Suspension & Bans

Users engaging in fraud, misrepresentation, or soliciting off-Platform transactions face immediate account suspension and a permanent ban (Section 11.2). Penalties for Artisan cancellation (5% of job value) are also enforced (Section 5.2).

4

Monitoring & Legal Action

We monitor for prohibited conduct (Section 6.3) and may pursue legal action, including reporting to law enforcement, for fraud, identity theft, or other illegal activities on our Platform.

Report Suspicious Activity

If an Artisan asks for payment outside the Platform, attempts to misuse a Release Code, or engages in any other prohibited conduct (Section 6.3), report them immediately. Failure to report may lead to account action.

All reports are investigated. By using Trifix, you agree to the terms outlined in our User Agreement and this Anti-Fraud Policy.
